From your first enquiry to your aftercare, the practice is deliberately personal and well organised. Sophie Freud coordinates every practical step, and Miss Hunter leads all clinical decisions — so you always know who to speak to and what happens next.
From enquiry to aftercare
- 01
Make an enquiry
Contact the practice directly by email, the website enquiry form or telephone. It helps to include the procedure you are interested in, your age, relevant medical background, any previous surgery, and whether you are self-pay or insured.
- 02
Sophie responds
Sophie replies promptly, confirms any missing details and — where an enquiry is suitable for Miss Hunter’s practice — arranges your initial in-person consultation with Miss Hunter at Charing Cross Hospital. The first consultation fee is paid before the appointment.
- 03
Your in-person consultation
At this initial consultation, Miss Hunter listens to your aims and assesses your medical background, anatomy and suitability before discussing the realistic options, limitations, recovery, risks and aftercare. Relevant before-and-after photographs are reviewed privately with you.
- 04
Letter, quote and information
After consultation you receive a letter dictated by Miss Hunter, typed by Sophie and checked by Miss Hunter, together with a quote and relevant patient information.
- 05
Choosing a Surgery Date
Sophie liaises with you regarding a surgery date and also books your respective appointments. A deposit is required in order to secure your chosen surgery date and the operation is paid for in advance.
- 06
A second review
Before surgery you are always reviewed again by Miss Hunter, so questions, suitability, planning and expectations can be checked. This second consultation is held in person where a further examination is needed; otherwise, it may take place by telephone.
- 07
Your surgery
Most private operations take place at the London Welbeck Hospital. Miss Hunter also operates at Charing Cross Hospital where the procedure or your clinical needs make that the more appropriate setting. Your hospital is agreed with you and confirmed as part of your individual surgical plan — see locations.
- 08
Aftercare
Surgical fees include appropriate aftercare, such as follow-up appointments, dressings and advice. You are given clear post-operative contact arrangements, with Sophie coordinating queries and escalating to Miss Hunter directly where clinical input is needed.

A direct route
One point of contact, throughout
Miss Hunter enjoys meeting her potential patients and appreciates what a significant decision surgery is. Your initial consultation is a relaxed, unhurried conversation held in person with Miss Hunter at her clinic at Charing Cross Hospital in London, with time to talk through your aims and any questions before anything is decided.
A familiar, responsive point of contact is one of the things patients value most. Sophie is involved in every part of the journey aside from your initial in-person consultation with Miss Hunter and the surgery itself, and she knows how to reach Miss Hunter when clinical input is needed.
Please contact Sophie first for anything to do with the practice, rather than other routes — it keeps your care consistent and avoids mixed messages.
How fees work
The first consultation fee is paid before the appointment. If surgery is planned, a deposit is required before the operation date is confirmed, and the operation is paid for in advance. Surgical fees include appropriate aftercare, including follow-up appointments, dressings and advice.
Costs vary depending on the procedure, hospital, any implant or equipment requirements and the individual surgical plan. For some commonly performed procedures, Sophie may be able to give a broad indication of likely cost before consultation, but a formal quote is normally provided after Miss Hunter has assessed you and advised on the right plan. The practice does not offer credit agreements or instalment plans.
Miss Hunter has an extensive library of before-and-after photographs of her own patients. These are reviewed during consultation rather than shown publicly, so that patient confidentiality is protected and relevant examples can be chosen for your individual discussion.
Common questions
Before you enquire
How much will surgery cost?
Exact costs depend on consultation and the treatment plan. Sophie can give a broad indication for some standardised procedures, but a formal quote follows your consultation with Miss Hunter.
Can I get an estimate before a consultation?
For some commonly performed procedures, yes — a broad range. A precise figure depends on the plan Miss Hunter recommends after assessing you.
Where does Miss Hunter consult and operate?
Initial consultations are held in person at Imperial College Healthcare Private Care / Thames View on the 15th floor of Charing Cross Hospital. Most private operations take place at the London Welbeck Hospital; Miss Hunter also operates at Charing Cross where the procedure or your clinical needs make that the more appropriate setting. Your hospital is confirmed as part of your individual surgical plan. See locations for details.
How much time will I need off work, and when can I travel?
This varies by procedure and by patient. General guidance is given here and in your patient information; individual advice is given by Miss Hunter around your surgery.
